Nutrition-DB

Reference nutritional values, such as fat or vitamin content, can be adopted from the nutrition database and used with Master data objects. This is possible as long as the criteria of the database are linked to the criteria of SpecPDM. Follow the instructions below to learn how to establish connection between the database and SpecPDM. More information about using the database can be found in article Master data → Functions & Processes → Assign nutrition database.

1)Select the required database and criteria type(s). Leave the Kind of food list set to All.

2)Criteria with no connection appear gray. Select any of the cells from the column you want to add connection to. Then right-click and select Connect to PDM-criterion.

3)Select the corresponding SpecPDM criterion from the list that pops up and click OK.

The unit in which a criterion is saved in the database may differ from the one in SpecPDM. If this is the case, double-click on the criterion and select a divisor.

Example: The unit of measurement of all minerals in the database is mg/100g. If that is also the case for SpecPDM, then the divisor is 1. But if the data in SpecPDM were in g/100g, then the divisor would need to be adjusted to 1000.

4)Once the connection is defined, the column header turns green.
