Recipes invoked in the Recipe or Simulation modules are presented and totaled together with their components in the Calculation module. After creating a recipe, recipe parameters, allergens, minerals, nutritional values, vitamins, statuses, GDAs (guideline daily amounts), maximum dosage, and SFC (Solid Fat Content) can be automatically calculated and documented in the respective tab.
The source of all the values are the Master data recipe components. It is allowed to use the less-then (<) and more-than (>) signs in Master data records. It may occur that one of the components contains a criterion with < value and another component contains the same criterion with > value. In case this conflict occurs, the total sum will contain symbol !.
Important: Master data recipe components can be labeled as Added by consumer. These are materials that are used to complete the recipe at some point after its production (e.g. powdered milkshake requires mixing with milk before drinking). Because these materials are not present in the product packaging, their values are also excluded. You can see them in the Calculation module but all their values are set to 0. They are also highlighted. |
Alarm values can be displayed in the GDAs tab. Here, you can see that the GDA alarm values have already been exceeded in the loaded recipe.
The following definitions/functions are valid for all Calculation tabs: all materials assigned to the relevant recipes (e.g. raw materials and semi-finished products) can be extrapolated according to their share in the recipe quantities.
The presentation of the data can be shown on a recipe level or on a resolved components level (using right-click → Resolve components or using the Expand icon from the Module Toolbar).
The presented calculations are always updated automatically. Changes in the corresponding material calculation parameter are thus, as soon as the automatically suggested recipe regenerating is carried out, immediately visible also on recipe level. The calculation/presentation principle is the same in each tab, i.e., the values of all single components are extrapolated to the recipe basis amount, according to their relevant share.
The results of the calculation are assigned to semi-finished and finished products by an assignment. You can find more information about assignments in article Recipe → Assignments.
Note: Before you proceed to the description of each of the tabs, please see Calculation → Functions & Processes → Basic calculation functions for an overview of basic functions used across all the Calculation tabs. |
