VAL-I-PAC

VAL-I-PAC is a Belgian initiative to promote and coordinate recycling of industrial packaging. This initiative helps the participating companies meet the official obligations related to annual reporting of packaging waste to authorities.

In SpecPDM, packaging information is part of a recipe in a form of Master data objects that belong to the type Packaging. All packaging materials existing in SpecPDM have a set of VAL-I-PAC attributes in Master data/Attributes. These attributes are:

VPac plastic.

VPac glass.

VPac cardboard.

Valipac material y/n (yes/no).

VP netto weight (kg).

Valipac default function (selection list).

Valipac type (selection list).

The VAL-I-PAC module consequently takes the packaging information from the Master data of individual recipe components and sums them up according to their type (cardboard, plastic, glass), function (primary, secondary, etc.) and their output weight (weight-out) in the recipe. The function of the material can be manually adjusted in this dialog. These changes are indicated with a red font color. Once the recipe is released, it is not possible to make any further adjustments.

By default, all recipe components are displayed in the VAL-I-PAC dialog. You can apply the product structure filters to display only (certain types of) packaging materials.

The VAL-I-PAC information can be exported into an Excel sheet using the excel button from the main window.

The VAL-I-PAC information can be transferred to the finished product using the Commit to Master data function. To do so, simply select the VAL-I-PAC checkbox when using the function.
