Costing

The Costing module accumulates all costs from different areas of SpecPDM for the finished product.

The following costs have impact on the total cost of the product:

Material costs

Raw material prices: Price 1, 2, or 3 which come from the Master data/Definition tab. The prices can be updated via an ERP system interface.

Predefined loss (Master data): This loss is defined in Master data/Definition → field Predefined loss. This loss raises the cost of the recipe in which the Master data object is used as a component.

Predefined loss (recipe): This loss is defined for recipe components in Recipe/Recipe → fields Predef. loss % and Predef. loss. These losses affect the input weight (weight in) required to produce the required quantity of the product, and thus also the costs.

Production costs

Activities: The labor cost required to produce the product. Can be defined via Costing/Work method/Activities.

Facilities: The machine cost required to produce the product. Can be defined via Costing/Work method/Facilities.

Overhead costs

Overhead costs represent costs which are not directly related to materials used for production and related work costs. This may include storage costs, legal fees, advertising, etc. Overhead cost groups can be created via Administration/General/Overhead cost groups and assigned to Master data objects in Master data/Definition → drop-down menu MO, or to recipes in Recipe/Definition → drop-down menu ROC.
